overdrive,distortion and fuzz comparision
It is quite difficult understand difference in tone bethween overdrive, distortion and fuzz. Every pedal play different, and same pedal play different with differents amps and guitars, so possibility are countless... and question remain the same. I tried with 3 pedal (Big Buff is not exactly a fuzz, but play is a very similiar way... and is the only pedal of this kind i got, i'm not in love with fuzz) same pattern with different pickup and style solution. Setting are different from pedal to pedal, but are quite balanced in volume and set to make the own character of the pedal understandble. You can make your own opinion on it. Very short and easy, overdrive in general "make fat" the tone, and preserve most of the original attack of the guitar. Depending on amp and setting, do something like a more cranked tone of same kind. This is especially true when you turn down volume, one of more important things to to to judje anything on electrig guitar stuff (amps, pedals, pickups). Distortion are usually harder in attack, if the pedal is good is anyway dynamic and make the original tone understandble, but even of low distortion values the tone is different and neither at low volume setting became clear and soft as the overdrive. The fuzz has a deep effect of the waveform, it change totally attack of the instrument. Is very dirty, and even if clean up lowering volume (any good pedal should) the break up is quite violent, so depending of style doesn't fit all usage, but is quite ...
