Blackstar HT DIST

www.ProGuitarShop.com - The Blackstar HT-Dist provides more tonal diversity than any distortion pedal youve ever used. Really. Can your distortion pedal go from American to British sounds, and deliver truly brown sounds that drip with vintage goodness? But thats not all this pedal can do. With some creative tweaking of the tone knobs, and the patent-applied-for Infinite Shape Knob, you can run with the devil and head to heavier realms when necessary. This is a true marvel of distortion tones, and can deliver it all, from mild distortion to some bruising tones. Best of all, dont lose the sound of your guitar or amp when turning it up. The level and gain knobs should be used in conjunction to achieve the desired amount of volume and gain. The bass, middle, and treble controls can all be used to alter the sound and tone of your distortion. The Blackstar HT-DIST pedal demands that you sit with it and tweak knobs. But it can also be used immediately out the box, too, with amazing results. The ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) allows you to dial in UK or American sounding distortion, as well as blend in these two distinctive distortion voices. The Blackstar HT-DIST is powered by ECC83/12AX7 valves for some truly rich and warm tones, and its emulated speaker output is perfect for direct recording. - proguitarshop.com

Blackstar HT DISTX

www.ProGuitarShop.com - The Blackstar HT-DistX will transform the most civilized valve amp into a fire-breathing, ultra high gain machine of filth and fury. Yeah, its that nasty. This pedal is specifically designed for modern guitarists that demand high gain voltage valve tones for extreme, progressive, and other heavy styles. With its design however, dynamics are present, and the distortion comes across as completely natural and organic with its ECC83/12AX7 valve. Do you need utter devastation in your tone while also needing maximum tonal shaping options? The Blackstar HT-DistX is the pedal for you. The level and gain work in conjunction to achieve the drive and volume necessary for your overdrive. The bass, middle, and treble knobs also act to supremely shape your sound. Scooped mids? You havent heard scooped mids until youve heard the Blackstar HT-DistXs scooped mids. Crank those mids, though, and sustaining, stinging leads are at your fingertips. The DistX also features Blackstars patent-applied-for ISF knob, or the Infinite Shape Feature. This knob when turned completely clockwise, will give you a characteristic UK distortion. Turned counter-clockwise, it will give you American tones. Dont be afraid to blend these, with just some fine adjustments. Now you see why the tonal options here are amazing. If youre seeking extreme levels of sonic mayhem, the Blackstar HT DistX is the pedal for you. - proguitarshop.com

T-Rex: ALBERTA Overdrive

t-rex-effects.com The Alberta remains a classic of the T-Rex stable. It was their first commercial pedal and was later drawn on for the Møller's sound in 2003. The Alberta pays homage to the great green drive we all know and love, and it is a great low to medium drive that sounds particularly good (IMO) with single coil pickups. Here you'll hear it with a Clapton signature and a Floyd Rose Redmond Model 5, both through the clean channel of my Laney VC50. Of course, the Alberta can be used to give an amp's break-up channel a good kick in the behind and this is something that I hope to demonstrate at a later date. Thanks for watching, as always. NO ALTERNATIVE

"No Alternative," a novel by William Dickerson. "No Alternative" is a coming-of-age drama that drills a hole into the world of suburban American teenagers in the early 90's. Thomas Harrison is determined to start his own "alternative" band, an obsession that blinds him to what's either the mental collapse, or the eruption of musical genius, of his little sister, Bridget. Bridget boldly rejects her brother's music, and the music of an entire generation of slackers, by taking on the persona of an X-rated gangsta' rapper named "Bri Da B." No Alternative probes the lives of rebellious kids who transition into adulthood via the distortion pedals of their lives in an era when the "Sex, Drugs & Rock'n'Roll" ethos was amended to include "Suicide" in its phrase. "A sympathetic coming-of-age story deeply embedded in '90s music. Reflective, unafraid of big-picture pronouncements--'nothing is more do-it-yourself than suicide.' The cool, casual tone results in knockout diagnoses of the '90s teenage condition: 'You feel older as a teenager than you will ever feel in your entire life.'" -Kirkus Reviews "A five star read, especially for any member of Generation X." -Versatile Book Reviews
